@AaronLeeJohnson@lichen I don’t think that was the same thing. More like a lightly insulated duffel bag. Yes those were intended to taking drinks to the beach for a few hours. If these are anywhere near the Yeti-class, (maybe not quite) these can replace a good hard-sided cooler on boats or off-road trips for much longer.
@AaronLeeJohnson@lichen I see; that’s not the one I was thinking of. This one might be more rugged and have better insulation but unless comparing side-by-side hard to tell.
I can understand people may think this is a lot for a “cooler bag” to take back groceries from the store, but as others have said this appears to be much better-insulated and higher quality.
Similar ones from a name brand like Yeti sell for about $200. I do like the choice of sizes and carry options. At this point I can’t imagine strapping the weight of 36 cans of anything to my back — don’t think my back or knees could take it.
@pmarin these are ok for a day trip. Nothing more demanding, unless you want to park it more frozen packs than drinks. My “wise owl” version has been a good little worker on hikes and lake days.

36 cans might be plenty but you’ll need a few thousands of these to pack in all the books “AI” has destroyed.
@DrunkCat How has AI destroyed any books? That sounds like an incorrect fact that you are known for spouting off about.
Just in case anyone didn’t realize that yakkoTDI was using a bot for his replies: There ya go, it can’t parse links.
@DrunkCat Aren’t you also a bot?
@AaronLeeJohnson Lol no. I said a long time ago that I mostly use this as creative writing practice.
@DrunkCat Try harder because it is not very creative.
@yakkoTDI bot some more “incorrect fact” lmao
These were excellent coolers. You have to lubricate the zipper though.
@AaronLeeJohnson Lubricate it . . . how?
@AaronLeeJohnson @actionPacked I’d try Danco 88693 silicone grease or a silicone spray.
@AaronLeeJohnson were they not “wise owl” last time? And cheaper?

@AaronLeeJohnson @pmarin I guess it was coho brand and a little different. My memory failed me.

/giphy just cool it, baby

what a joke of a price for some insulation and a zipper
These look to be from the same manufacturer as the soft Coho cooler Costco sold. Have one. It’s great.

That AI version of the kids in Stand By Me is just depressing me.
@cinoclav Ok I knew it was AI but I was an idiot thinking they were supposed to be the kids from IT.
“I don’t like to yuck other people’s yum”
So what you’re saying is that you don’t like to woooo other people’s wheee, mon ami?
It can keep warm things warm and cool things cool. But how does it know?
As depicted in the 14th image?
I’m still using the coho one I got a while back. Keeps stuff cold.
@zippyzeb And only $29.
