I’ve met several members of the family that founded the company that originally made these. They own a winery now

That kinda reminds me of the memorial to our beloved Old Man of the Mountain; in just over a week, it’ll be the 22nd anniversary since he fell. They installed a sculpture made up of 7 pillars that line up to show visitors what he looked like if you stand at the right spot. It’s a little sad for those of us who grew up with him, but cool that the younger generation can somewhat see what they’re missing.
@Kyeh Yes, that’s true, that road (the Kancamagus) is 35 miles of bumper-to-bumper traffic during fall foliage season, so there’s an endless supply of tourists to appreciate it, too! The sad part is the excitement of being on vacation as a kid, nearing the end of a long, boring car ride, arriving at the big curve in the road next to the lake and waiting for it to appear, since you could only see the full profile at that spot from the road. It was what passed for excitement under those circumstances! Lol

@Cerridwyn
Didn’t even know they had wine.
Wow, that’s one observant dude!

@ircon96 That’s a very ingenious way to recreate the experience! For older generations who just never got to see it, too.

Simpler times…
Now most folks are too busy staring at their screens to look up at the mountains and even spot it in the first place.
