5It’s that time again! I reactivated the league, anyone new who wants in whisper me your email and I’ll send an invite.
First game is September 9th, I’m thinking the Friday before for the draft, maybe 8 pm eastern. Let me know if that doesn’t work for anyone.
New players welcome, everyone but Carl’s nephew sucks at the game so no experience necessary.
You can look at the league setup, complaints welcome until the draft while I can fix things but after that it’s shut your pie hole time.

@sammydog01 not sure why, but i can’t whisper via the original post. but anyway, my nephew is in. reply to this and i can whisper you my email (if you don’t already have it)
also, we’ll (including my nephew) be at a family reunion on Sept 4th. but i’m sure they can figure something out.

@sammydog01 anything Sept 1 or before would probably work. but we’re good with whatever the group decides. they can make Sept 4th work
@carl669 Probably gonna set the draft later than the 1st to see who tears an acl in preseason or gets suspended for biting someone. Can they do the 7th?

@sammydog01 traveling back from the family reunion on the 7th and not sure what time they’ll be home. so really, the date you originally said (friday, sept 4) would be better.
also, who the hell is getting suspended for biting someone?

I exist. And plan to participate. In theory, I should be able to make a draft any day in the evening, but I’ll probably forget at the lay minute and autodraft like three last free years

) Just for the record, I HAD to change my team name-from Y.O.R. (Year Of Redemption) after finishing in last place two years back, to now adding, “Fully Redeemed” to reflect my stellar performance finishing middle of the road (MEH?!?) last year.
I changed the name to differentate news between my other league.

@carl669 September 4 at 8 pm EST, he should be able to find it on the app. I can move the time around if earlier or later on the 4th works better but I would rather not move the day earlier. The fifth or sixth might do as well.
Still waiting to see if Puka is suspended.

Let me know a few days before if you end up with an odd or even number so I can drop and you can set the draft order so people can plan.
@capnjb We have 12 right now but Mr. Dog is thinking about joining. If he does I’ll add another team, autodraft, and give everyone the option after a couple of weeks to swap for the unclaimed team, lowest to highest standing. Assuming I can figure that out.

READY TO GO! Twelve teams, everyone from last year plus my son who some of you know as Snowflake. Draft is Friday night. Anyone who plans on auto drafting there’s a setting you can turn on to make the draft go faster. Or not, you do you.
@njfan could you check and make sure I didn’t mess anything up?
I used last years settings, last chance to complain so I can change things.

I can’t remember - is TE part of the FLEX position? Also - I may have to Autodraft. The league I’ve been in for over 30 years is drafting at the same time. I’ll do my best to be present, but we’ll see.

Myself, I’m going full auto draft.
I showed up for the draft, but usually do better when I auto draft. I’ll try to show up for at least a little shit talk this season but will probably be a bit of a ghost this year
@metaphore Heh… that draft was brutal. With 9 of 12 teams autodrafting and a 45 second timer, it’s like fuck! Who do I pick? And then 30 seconds later it’s your pick again and you spend half of your time figuring out where all the players went. Glad this isn’t a money league. Very Meh. Don’t even know why I printed out all my position cheat sheets. Didn’t get a moment to look at them after the first round.
@capnjb 45 seconds was rough. sometimes the longer timers really drag it out, but i barely had time to figure out what position i needed, let along what player i wanted before it started doing the angry count down
@capnjb @metaphore I’m pretty sure we can change the countdown, remind us next year.

@metaphore @sammydog01 Normally a FF draft is half the fun of a season. This was… unpleasant. I’m not throwing shade, I just have never seen a 12 team draft wrap up in less than 25 minutes.
@capnjb At least participating in the draft got both of us "A"s on our teams

@capnjb @metaphore For me the draft is like Christmas, the computer does its thing and I get to open my gifted team.
Dragontrainer laughed at me for drafting Malik Nabers third round after I planned on putting all the giants on my no draft list but it was too hard to do on an iPad. But she drafted Josh Jacobs third round and he’s on the commissioners exempt list SUCK IT DRAGONTRAINER.
Also I was at a Blackberry Smoke concert and it was awesome!

Just remember us few that fought in the trenches that night. Heh. It was like playing tennis where both players serve at the same time

@sammydog01 I haven’t looked at your team, but a ton of players listed as questionable are probably still finalizing contracts. So when they don’t play it’s ego and not injury, if that helps.
@metaphore Could be, I should be more optimistic. At least I don’t have 3 kickers with the same bye week.
@sammydog01 I very nearly has 3 WR ask with the same bye. I caught it at the very last second so only my best 2 have the same week off

@tohar1 Curious about your draft strategy, did you choose players your wife found hot or something?
@sammydog01 one year, in another league, I drafted guys that had the best smiles for the pictures that year
@metaphore I check out photos before I add players, especially the ones who will always be on my bench. I’ve been lucky picking up rookies with cool names like Juju and Puka.
@sammydog01 9 of my players pass the vibe check. Funny how super serious David Montgomery is this year when he’s been on my smile teams before.
Truth be told…I started trying to figure out “a strategy” then I got busy, so I didn’t finish what I started out to do, so when the draft happened, I ended up with a bit of a hot-mess of a team!
Time will tell, of course, but I’ll try to get going & make some improvements. I might end up with incredibly mediocre results…
