1x iWalk PowerHybrid 10000mAh Wireless Power Bank with USB-C and Lightning Cables
@yakkoTDI I have several cables that has USB A on one end to plug into a Power brick, Then the other end has several cords to plug in Lighting, USB C, Micro USB. So I am ready for it all!
As far as outdated electronics perceptions…I still have and use enough vintage/retro/antique gear and equipment that a few of those perceptions are still valid! Heh
@katbyter Still have a landline (why, yes, I am old). Mainly because that is the number I give out when companies insist on a phone number, and the caller-ID and Nomorobo makes it easy to ignore the junk calls that result from my number being sold.
Timing stinks, I just bought a similar one on the 'zon for $19.79 after coupon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F8NT5BB6 could have saved a whole $1.80 with this model and gotten an extra USB C cable plus a Lightning cable I’d have no use for.
Too much trouble to buy this and return the other, but apparently not enough trouble to whine about it here. /selftroll
If this has to be placed directly on the back of the phone and that means I have to take the protective case off the phone; forget it! No convenience there!!
@clutterbug This charger is intended for a Qi2 equipped phone – Last few generations of iPhone or the new Pixel 10 line (MagSafe/Pixelsnap). However if your phone supports wireless charging, you can probably buy a case with a built-in magnetic ring to use with this and other MagSafe accessories.
In fact, I decided against upgrading my Pixel 7 to the Pixel 10, (I don’t like that they removed the SIM tray) and bought a Pixel 9 Pro instead along with a magnetic case. Works perfectly and my phone is protected.
“Large Capacity Made for your whole day”. Are there really people that drain their phone battery in one day, and if so, WTF are you doing to your phone?
@brennyn poor cell reception uses battery faster (even if you are not on a call or transmitting data; more if you are). Some people also don’t charge on the regular. If you didn’t charge overnight & just rely on charge the phone gets while plugged into the car when you have it playing music/giving directions while you drive, or something like that you may get far less then a full charge many days.
@brennyn@mehvid1
I know what you mean. I was super bummed when they stopped:
making batteries replaceable,
putting headphone jacks in,
and allowed the use of an SD card.
@chienfou@krez56 It does both according to the specs and photos. Now - if it’s both plugged in and within wireless range, I have no idea what the behavior is.
@chienfou@krez56 I have a wireless power bank that you can also use wired. When I lay my S22 Ultra on it and plug it in, the phone displays a message saying it’s using the wired charging option. That’s a three year old phone. I can’t imagine newer phones aren’t equally intelligent.
Sorley tempted by this. Lost my favorite charger at the San Francisco airport when my granddaughter’s flight got delayed as I accompanied her to the gate. We spent hours waiting for flight to finally go around midnight. Somehow managed to lose my power bank in the process.
@chienfou I bet the airport has a big bin of stuff like that. But they probably can’t give it away legally. Plus a bin of power banks could spontaneously combust at any moment.
Also remember seeing piles of stuff taken by the TSA, things like pocket knives and nail scissors. This was in the early days. They wanted to take a 1 1/2 inch Leatherman multi-tool that had sentimental value so I said no I’m leaving got my wife to pick me up again and that’s when I started doing 700mi vehicle commutes to California.
@pmarin
Wish I could just go to Scottsboro Alabama and see if it shows up in one of their bins. That’s where they resell unclaimed or “lost luggage” after it’s found if they don’t have a way to connect it with the correct person. Actually a pretty cool field trip. TSA stuff is sold through a different process.
Granddaughter actually left an iPad of her mom’s on a flight a couple of years ago and they were able to find it and reconnect it to my daughter. I was amazed.
Over the years I have surrendered several items including one recently when I checked my wife’s bag but decided to use mine as a carry-on since I only got one free bag and she was flying on a companion ticket. Unfortunately I had stashed my pocket knife in my bag instead of hers. Ended up surrendering it right before TSA. Trid to give it to somebody who was arriving instead, but couldn’t find anybody.
I just found an mFish “iChoco” for free at a thrift shop yesterday. It suffered from the sticky “faux-suede” disease, but alcohol wipes solved that. Since it was free, I figured it was worth the effort of salvaging the picture alone. It’s battery is from 2015. Surprisingly, it works, but I think it drains pretty fast. I could graft the picture onto this gizmo, but that’s another project and … I am tired.
/showme puzzled gargoyle unsure of why someone said what they said.
This is a great charger for the price. I do question why they put a built in cord right next to a Qi charger, that’s kinda weird, but … whatevs. I want to get more of these, but they are sold out now at meh/sidedeal, and I don’t want to pay Amazon or manufacturer prices
should’ve bought more when I had the chance, but I tend to take a shot on things on meh, and then if they come out good, I buy more of them on sidedeal lol … sometimes i get burned by missing out.
I definitely want to keep one in my travel bag, and I also want a couple for my VR headsets. While they don’t strap to a Quest directly, they do make an excellent passthrough device. This is the only thing I’ve found that can actually charge a Quest 3 while it’s in use and have net positive charge. And you can connect it to a charger while it’s doing that. So if you have a couple of decent length USB-C cables, you can be in VR, have this battery in your pocket, and be plugged into the wall, and granted you’re wired, but you’re not limited to the 30-minute or so max runtime of a Quest 3 running at full bore. Even if not plugged into the wall, you can get an extra somewhere between 30-90 minutes out of the headset with this attached, depending on how hard you are pressing the headset to go.

No Micro USB? I’m out.
@yakkoTDI A refreshing perspective!
@yakkoTDI I have several cables that has USB A on one end to plug into a Power brick, Then the other end has several cords to plug in Lighting, USB C, Micro USB. So I am ready for it all!
“AI” users are illiterate.
@DrunkCat
Then how will they read THIS?
As far as outdated electronics perceptions…I still have and use enough vintage/retro/antique gear and equipment that a few of those perceptions are still valid! Heh
Dialing a 1 with a “long distance” number
@katbyter Still have a landline (why, yes, I am old). Mainly because that is the number I give out when companies insist on a phone number, and the caller-ID and Nomorobo makes it easy to ignore the junk calls that result from my number being sold.
“Other electronic devices”??
I have those!

@ciabelle
@ciabelle (Intended as empathy, not laughing at you.)
@ciabelle (you paid an extra 1.80 for the Baseus name)
/8ball Do I need another power bank from Meh?
Outlook good

@clutterbug I had the same concern. Thanks for the tip, @ciabelle.
iWalk away? No, iRan from this.
@phendrick You iRan to Iran? Did you get a charge out of that?
@phendrick YouRan so far away!

Some people just use their phones ALOT.
@theonetruestrip Oh, yeah, I always forget about GPS.
Even when I’m using my phone at a level that feels like a lot to me, it takes about a week to go from full charge to 30%, at which point I plug it in.
@brennyn I have an old phone & use it a lot, so yeah….
@brennyn @mehvid1
Especially since the battery life on older phones degrades over time…
@chienfou @mehvid1 My phone is from early 2021 and still holds charge as well as ever. “Old” is subjective, though.
I used a Galaxy S3 for way too many years because the battery could be replaced without tools.
@brennyn @mehvid1
I know what you mean. I was super bummed when they stopped:
making batteries replaceable,
putting headphone jacks in,
and allowed the use of an SD card.
@brennyn my teens can easily drain their phones on a day…think I may need these for them.
Not comfortable with using the magnetic chargers, because my phone heats up. One that charges with a plug but also attaches to the phone? I’m in!
@krez56
?? Will it preferentially charge your phone from the cable rather than the wireless capability?
@chienfou Sounds as if it only charges through the cable, but attaches to your phone so you don’t have to carry two separate things.
@chienfou @krez56 It does both according to the specs and photos. Now - if it’s both plugged in and within wireless range, I have no idea what the behavior is.
@krez56
Product write-up says wireless charging.
@chaoticbear @krez56
I think typically it does word preferentially.
@chienfou @krez56 I have a wireless power bank that you can also use wired. When I lay my S22 Ultra on it and plug it in, the phone displays a message saying it’s using the wired charging option. That’s a three year old phone. I can’t imagine newer phones aren’t equally intelligent.
@givinupthefight @krez56
d’oh… that should have read WIRED preferentially.
