About last week. I can remove the shoddily installed window AC because the 80+ days are over. First “real” Fall storm came in blowing a few leaves off of trees. Trees not in full Fall mode but “pretty time” is coming soon.
Also baseball.
1st of October in Clackamas county. We are allowed to have bonfires again and the rain has returned. I’m kind of glad it feels properly fall in the PNW today. I’m down for the count today, and it’s been nice to listen to the rain whilst binging on LOTR and trying to convince myself to make cookies with the mixer that just showed up.
@chienfou@jouest A friend of mine lives in northern Wisconsin, across the street from superior. He loves the winters there.
As a runner, all that snow is a big nope for me.
I’ll take the high desert in the winter.

@sillyheathen ooh. Middle Earth is calling
When the weather perminantly changes, the leaves change, and bon fire season starts.
Fall is a figment of the imagination of those who don’t live where you can run your air conditioning in January
@Cerridwyn true story!
When it’s no longer 90s+ every day.
I hate summer in the desert.
@kittykat9180 I hate summer in the dang Great Lakes region and here it’s nothing! too hot!
(Great Lakes summer is “a week of poor sledding in July” according to my dad, who does not live here.)
@jouest @kittykat9180
I lived in International Falls for a while. Love that line! That sounds about correct. More days below freezing than above 90…

@kittykat9180 wait! It gets less than 90?
@Cerridwyn @kittykat9180 is there a middle ground?
@kittykat9180 @pakopako does rain count?
@Cerridwyn less than 90 in the high desert?
Yes, we get lows into the teens in the winter.
@kittykat9180 that is true. It does snow up there
When I take down my window AC.
Which is any day now (boy is it drafty)
