Merician Gift Excange 2026 Sign Up

You must be an active member on meh to participate in this exchange. By active member I mean you must regularly post in the threads and communicate, not just place orders. These are not “MY” rules, they are the original rules from when this exchange started. Last year I did try and let new people in that weren’t active members but that didn’t turn out well and will not happen again. If you are not an active member and sign up and I cannot verify you, you will be taken out.
You also must not abandon your elfster account once you sign up. Please sign up with an email address that goes to you directly. Please check in a couple times a week until you send out your package and check the sent package button. I will send messages though elfster (it’s easier to reach everybody than trying to find everybody on meh) and I will also confirm you’re a real person on their. Please sign up with your MEH name on elfster (there is a shipping address where you can put your real name, only your sender and I can see it). If you do not sign up with your meh name, do not get mad when I put your real name on meh trying to figure out who your are. It happens every year, this is your warning. Also on your elfster account please fill out a wishlist with at least 3 items. Buying from the wishlist is not mandatory, this is just to give your sender an idea of stuff you like. You can even write in stuff. People have requested to add if you like coffee, spicy food, have food allergies, have hobbies just a general tidbit about yourself.

The box (I think it’s up to $12.80) covers the cost of the 8 11/16" x 5 7/16" x 13/4" size box from usps (it’s the small one that holds a vhs, remember those). It can be sent with up to 70lbs. That’s all your required to fill and send for this exchange. Now do people go above and beyond and send way bigger boxes with lots more stuff? YES! Lots and lots of people do. Lots of people really get into the exchange and like to fill huge boxes, packed with lots of fun stuff for people. Every year there’s someone one new that says they wish they would have gotten into it more and sent more than they did. But if you can’t afford it, DON’T FELL BAD. The vhs size box is the minimum requirement and that’s all you’re expected to do. Last year my box shipping cost was $50, ($50 freaking dollars) but I really get into the exchange and have lots of fun with it. I like to personalize it to my person if I can. BUT AGAIN THAT IS NOT MANDITORY.

What to fill your box with? No broken items, this isn’t meh, we throw our broken shit in the trash. No junk, if you don’t want it, chances are no one else will either. No trackers (one for laughs is okay, or other obligatory meh stuff. This is a meh exchange so if you have some meh stuff still in the package you could toss that in. Some people like to stalk their person and try and find out what they would like, others have sent a collection of things from their hometown. The world is your oyster, think about what you would like to get and pass it on. Now if you send a shitty box you will forfit any chance to participate in the future. Then we have to find someone to send another box to that person bc they sent something nice and got crap in return. So don’t send a shitty box. If you would like to look at past meh exchanges you can type meh exchange/merichian exchange into the bubbles and it will pull up the past ones to give you an idea of what people have sent.
You also must post a pic of the contents of your box in the reveal thread on the meh page (just like we do with IRKs). This is a requirement. Everybody wants reconighion for what they sent and people like to see what others got. If you don’t post, you can’t participate in future exchanges. Please don’t make me hound you.

This is something that is supossed to be fun. So let’s all have fun with it. If you have any questions you can always find me on the meh thread or ask me through elfster. I try and respond within in a day but please know that life does happen and sometimes it may take longer (also please respond to me in a timely manner). This is a time intensive thing for me to run and I do it bc I like it (and I like making sure it happens) so please be patient with all aspects, sometimes glitches happen. For this year I’m having a surgery on Feb 9th so I may be down for a couple of days but I anticipate having help.

I know some people have vacations planned during this, so if you are gonna be out of town during the send out period and still want to participate please let me know. As long as you keep in contact with me I have no problems and I’m sure your recipient won’t either.

Elfster refistration will be open till February 5th. I will draw names sometime one February the 6th. You will have till February 25th to get your boxes out on the mail. You must post your reveal pic on the official reveal meh thread (like we do with irks).
