A 6.5" showerhead seems like it would be somewhat unwieldy. A couple reviews on the 'zon reflect that, and the site recommends a Moen 3.5" showerhead with six functions instead for less than this offering – though to get the magnetic base, you need to spend about $54 but it does get slightly better reviews.
@seraphimcaduto I’m feeling lucky – although I don’t know why, considering that I got a truly regrettable IRK last month, and am waiting for a Random Meh Merch Bundle which is certain to add to the regret – so I’m going to wait to see if the shower head shows up on Sidedeal for an even lower price.
@ItalianScallion you too?! Yeah mine was hilariously meh too. I think it was a 32oz tumbler, hand sanitize, the bag and some random dollar store thing I don’t remember. Here’s hoping this is good lol.
@stinks Me neither. And I always take a shower fully clothed with a cup of coffee in my hand too. (Thanks, @GaviD, for the hint to use the “Clarify” setting.)
What about a setting for “PowerWash” to strip off suspension grease, tree sap, paint spatter, dried-on fluorescent-dye paintball hits, and skunk spray? (Mixed together.) (Asking for a friend.)
@ircon96@phendrick@werehatrack Yes, it is, the Bigger the “Oy!” the better it is. I just love Puns.
I leave you with one:
Why did the Sheep run off the Road???
“…nobody’s ever complained about how clean I look or smell after using it”
Is that an example of fear-based marketing? I mean, how many people take a shower (with soap, something that is not being sold here today) and are really greeted with “you don’t look clean” or “you smell”?
Upon further reflection, I suppose that is the go-to tactic for every product/service writeup everywhere…
@andymand I have had occasion to register complaints with people sharing a hotel room during business travel, when their shower and post-shower fragrance selections were so obnoxious that I had to flee the premises. (It’s usually not the soap, although Irish Spring was going to be found confined to a Ziplock if it was left in a shower that I was going to have to share.)
I have made a point of telling couple of them to wait until they were outside before polluting the air with Axe.
@everchot@PooltoyWolf
I saw that and saw the same thing… Maybe the buyer will put in a dual 5 way splitter and surround himself in the shower while fully clothed, with a cup of coffee in his hand… and yes, for “heartny”… a banana!
Is this only in chrome or is there the definitive “brushed nickel” or better yet… other varieties such as black or even copper?? Yes!!!
Chrome seems to “chromy” but this is a very good price.
I wonder how difficult it is to replace the hose with a longer one. I like to bathe my dogs in the tub and the extra reach would help justify replacing the current hardware (which is awkward, but works).
This looks identical to Brondell’s Nebia Corre which seems to be pretty popular (and expensive). This said, what is with the tile job in the shower pictures? It looks like it was done by drunk dwarves (in case they are into that kind of thing).
<rant> Four “settings”, and not a damn one of them tells me anything at all about what it actually does. They might as well have called them Jacques, Matilda, Alice and Joe. And the naming tells me WAY too much about the mindset of whoever was ramrodding this product dev track; frou-frou woo aplenty, woefully short on any of the deets that might make me sit up and take notice. I would have expected more respect for the consumer’s intelligence from an outfit like Moen, but I guess I am too far detached from THEIR “reality” to really exist. It reads like a thing they only want to sell to people who are willing to pay ten times as much for Image as for function. And this goes in a bathroom shower stall. Image. Bathroom shower stall. Riiiight.</rant>
@seeden it may not be the same, I just ordered a large “rain” head for a different shower and it actually came with a tool to remove the flow reducer / orifice. So the answer is a big maybe, but I think quite a few of the shower heads use a similar configuration.
@rjquillin@seeden the white/clear plastic piece can be pulled out with needle nose pliers. Grab the middle separator and pull gently, no twisting or drill is needed.
@dschonew@rjquillin Thanks… yeah… I just pulled that out and the little o-ring embedded in the plastic below that in the shower head… I am wondering if the small slots in the shower arm part could be made larger… Rock on!
@dschonew@rjquillin@seeden Can you elaborate? I took out the white piece and it didn’t help the flow; it seemed to be more a filter than a restrictor. Still absolutely despise this.
@dschonew@RevRagnarok@rjquillin
Yeah… taking out the “filter” and also the black o-ring embedded in the “diffuser” below the filter did not really get me there either. Pretty disappointed… I really am thinking about taking my drill to the shower arm part and drilling trough the small rectangular hole… Maybe drilling through the diffuser in the shower hear part also… MORE FLOW!!!
I’m in. Seems like a good deal. Plus, I like the magnetic feature. If it does make nice with the master shower, it shall be banished to 1 of the 2 showers in the house.
A practical tip: You’ll likely need to run the water warmer, and perhaps nudge up the temperature on your hot water heater. The tiny droplets pump heat into the air around the stream, which is good to get it just as warm without as much water flow. But to actually get that heat with less flow, the water has to be hotter at the start. (With a focused stream, you should still save on the water heating too.)
Anyway, this is a bit late for this availability (though it’s still not closed as I post this). But some context anyways:
This is a Nebia brand showerhead, as visible in the images. (I believe the original name is supposed to be read as “Nebia by Moen” (company) “Quattro Handshower” (product).)
Nebia was sold to Brondell; I believe the same product has become the Nebia Corre. Presumably, that explains why meh has these, and is avoiding the “Nebia” name.
The idea of Nebia showers is to be low flow, but with small droplets for coverage and a high pressure mode for rinsing. The Kickstarter for the original (2015) has lots of detail on the basic idea and engineering, from prior when to Moen acquired them.
The anticipation was (and, still is) that water shortages will be increasingly common, resulting higher meter charges or tighter regulations. Nebis are the high-tier offering in a world where water is either expensive or constrained. I would guess that Moen bought out Nebia for that reason, wanting the R&D work already done for them.
But it turns out that, in the U.S., federal regulation has not come to pass, and now that Chevron deference has been lost, regulation might never get traction at the federal level. (This isn’t for lack of merit; the actual physical availability of water is still increasingly problematic.) And Americans’ voluntary desire to be good environmental stewards are at a nadir.
Without an external motivation and with U.S. mass marketers fearing backlash, it appears Moen’s marketers settled for the worst of all worlds: appealing to nobody at all.
For example, the Kickstarter for this edition labels the four modes much more sensibly: Angel Hair, Hard Spray, Soft Spray, and Super Saver. I would suggest meh try some tacks used by the Kickstarters or perhaps by Brondell, and avoid the recent marketing descriptions from Moen.
(In addition, it appears Moen failed to sell internationally - Brondell could more capable of satisfying international demand.)
Meanwhile, this is a great deal to take advantage of, for a lot of potential futures. And that’s even if you don’t consider yourself a do-gooder: if nobody manages the situation, the laws of physics (and economics) will take over to make water scarce and expensive in drought scenarios.
For myself, I have both my old shower head and this Nebia Quattro Handshower installed, with a valve for switching between them; I mainly use the Nebia.
@AySz88 all great information and much appreciated! I can confirm that the water usage for this showerhead is significantly less. I tested my existing low flow head at ~20 seconds for 1.5 quarts and this unit on the “Angel Hair” / first setting closer to 27 seconds. We have relatively low water pressure from the main, but it was still a decent savings.
As far as all four settings on the showerhead, they are growing on me. The “Super Saver” / fourth setting is the only one that noticeably reduces the water temperature.
This is a huge waste of money, flow is weak, weighs a ton, too big to fit on the standard shower pipe (handle hits wall). If Amazon gets $150+ for this I’ll bet they all get returned. Get a Kohler at Costco for $39 and you’ll be much happier…
@culmac I wonder if something is wrong with the one you received, the flow on mine is crazy good without even removing restrictor. I do agree that it is big and heavy for a shower head.
@culmac I agree. Hate mine and even yanked out what I thought was the restrictor. I do worry a little about the weight. If I can’t get the flow to increase in a day or two, it’s gone even tho wife likes it.
@culmac@Ignorant I got two and they both suck equally. I like the idea of being able to use the hand wand; I don’t like needing to use it because there’s not enough water to rinse the soap off.
@culmac@RevRagnarok There’s no real point in “removing a restrictor” - check my post above but the nozzles are specifically engineered for low flow, and this is not a “normal” shower head running at low flow. If one of you likes it, you might as well get a splitter to add the showerhead you prefer. (Or at least donate it to Habitat for Humanity or something; I’m sure California’s is in desperate need of them right now.)

This deal is all wet.
OH MY GOD THEY SHOWERED GLEN!!!
@shahnm that is a VERY good thing, now he will not reak any more… have a unique Oder!
If this is the one I have (I think it is) it’s awesome!
KRULL! A SKULL! BRETT HULL! AWESOME!

Normally prefer Delta products but this is a legit good deal. Guess I’m gonna buy it lol.
@seraphimcaduto hi! Moen has very good warranty coverage and excellent customer service
@edyafree @seraphimcaduto A good warranty is always nice, but I just can’t recall ever having a showerhead go bad on me.
@ItalianScallion you too?! Yeah mine was hilariously meh too. I think it was a 32oz tumbler, hand sanitize, the bag and some random dollar store thing I don’t remember. Here’s hoping this is good lol.
Does that make anyone more likely to buy the shower head? I don’t get it.
@stinks Me neither. And I always take a shower fully clothed with a cup of coffee in my hand too. (Thanks, @GaviD, for the hint to use the “Clarify” setting.)
@stinks Human for scale.
@heartny @stinks Where’s his banana?
@heartny @rpstrong @stinks hey it’s not that kinda site
@heartny @rpstrong @stinks They need one of these.
@crvich @heartny @stinks
/showme a man and his banana
If you look at the image a little closer, you will see a, “Mushroom!”
@mediocrebot
The banana has grown the wrong way, it’s twisted in the peel!
Ah yes, classic. The “clarify” showerhead setting for when I get a little confused.
What about a setting for “PowerWash” to strip off suspension grease, tree sap, paint spatter, dried-on fluorescent-dye paintball hits, and skunk spray? (Mixed together.) (Asking for a friend.)
@werehatrack There is no AssBlaster setting. We need a combo deal of this and a BioBidet.
Moen? Got any for womoen or are you being sexist? (implied by the product pictures…)
@phendrick Groan…dad joke alert! (But you still get a star for the pun, i can’t help myself.)
@ircon96 @phendrick the more you go yuck the better the Pun. So I would give it at least 2-3 yuck’s.
@ircon96 @mycya4me @phendrick The beauty of the pun is in the “Oy!” of the beholder.
@ircon96 @phendrick @werehatrack Yes, it is, the Bigger the “Oy!” the better it is. I just love Puns.
I leave you with one:
Why did the Sheep run off the Road???
He missed the EWE turn!
@mycya4me @phendrick @werehatrack That one took “shear” gall, I’ll give you that, although you might have to go on the “lamb” from the pun police!
“…nobody’s ever complained about how clean I look or smell after using it”

Never mind, carry on, Meh…
@andymand I have had occasion to register complaints with people sharing a hotel room during business travel, when their shower and post-shower fragrance selections were so obnoxious that I had to flee the premises. (It’s usually not the soap, although Irish Spring was going to be found confined to a Ziplock if it was left in a shower that I was going to have to share.)

Who the heck bought 10 of them?
@PooltoyWolf resellers
@everchot @PooltoyWolf
I saw that and saw the same thing… Maybe the buyer will put in a dual 5 way splitter and surround himself in the shower while fully clothed, with a cup of coffee in his hand… and yes, for “heartny”… a banana!

Chrome seems to “chromy” but this is a very good price.
@everchot @mcemanuel @PooltoyWolf If it came in Georgia Red, I’d have already bought one.
@everchot @mcemanuel @PooltoyWolf It’s probably here because of the chrome finish; the brushed nickel is more expensive on A-zon.
@everchot @mcemanuel @PooltoyWolf considering the following meh was locks and someone bought 5, this sounds like a motel.
@everchot @mcemanuel @pakopako Good theory
Does this have a “shut-off” setting to conserve water when soaping up?
@werekong I didn’t find anything saying so.
@werekong That’s what the thingy on the wall that turns left and right is for
@CraigDanger @werekong But then you lose the temperature level you’ve adjusted it to - which with my faucets is tricky!
Is that a Glen in your shower, or are you just happy to see me? Egad.
Lookie lookie what I found for 73 bucks on the moen website (meh still cheaper, but I do like the “mediterranean” look and style!
https://shop.moen.com/products/n401h0ch?variant=50710753771830
I wonder how difficult it is to replace the hose with a longer one. I like to bathe my dogs in the tub and the extra reach would help justify replacing the current hardware (which is awkward, but works).
@whitelightertre You might want a Shower Head Extender
@rpstrong thanks! I’ll look into it
This looks identical to Brondell’s Nebia Corre which seems to be pretty popular (and expensive). This said, what is with the tile job in the shower pictures? It looks like it was done by drunk dwarves (in case they are into that kind of thing).
@qmirage I’ve seen tile jobs like that - I think they’re supposed to look “rustic.”
@Kyeh I guessed something like that but it sorta looks like they used bubble gum for grout, too
@qmirage Or toothpaste!
<rant> Four “settings”, and not a damn one of them tells me anything at all about what it actually does. They might as well have called them Jacques, Matilda, Alice and Joe. Can you remove the orifice to get more that 1.5 GPM?
Asking for a friend…
@seeden that friend would be me!
@seeden it may not be the same, I just ordered a large “rain” head for a different shower and it actually came with a tool to remove the flow reducer / orifice. So the answer is a big maybe, but I think quite a few of the shower heads use a similar configuration.
@dschonew @rjquillin
A definite maybe is good enough for me! I’m using my $10 IRK coupon and taking a wash in this for $30.
@rjquillin @seeden confirmed, the restrictor is removable.
@dschonew @seeden
@dschonew @rjquillin Wait…What??? I looked and it did not seem that way… I need to look again or get out a drill!
@rjquillin @seeden the white/clear plastic piece can be pulled out with needle nose pliers. Grab the middle separator and pull gently, no twisting or drill is needed.
@dschonew @rjquillin Thanks… yeah… I just pulled that out and the little o-ring embedded in the plastic below that in the shower head… I am wondering if the small slots in the shower arm part could be made larger… Rock on!

Not the same one being compared on Amz. Subtle difference, 60" hose instead of 72" hose… Not that anyone cares.
I’m in. Seems like a good deal. Plus, I like the magnetic feature. If it does make nice with the master shower, it shall be banished to 1 of the 2 showers in the house.
