@yakkoTDI Yeah. I put one in the blender the other day. The smoothie tasted a bit metallic. Blender doesn’t work anymore. Don’t know why. At least my iron deficiency is gone.
@tweezak That pan is gorgeous! My extended family is from Erie and I have 4 Griswolds passed down from them. One more with an uncle that will be mine. I have 2 Wagner’s which are functionally equal, but without nostalgia.
I’m mostly indifferent because I’ve used all different kinds of pans and never had problems with food sticking to any of them. I care more about having handles that are oven safe, and these have that.
I am likewise in the “right tool for the right job” column.
But, I must say I have moved away from teflon/PTFE type coatings and now use ceramic or granite finish for my “non-sticks”.
my mother had a couple of heavy cast aluminum pans back in the day. She was not a cast iron person, don’t know why because well teflon wasn’t around yet. When it was she switched.
I have had the high end Caphalon (my ex’s) and hated it. every fucking thing stuck to it. I have had cast iron, it’s too heavy for me anymore. still have one 8inch lidded pan but don’t use it because of the weight. Probably should sell it.
Not really sure what I want to move to. I only know it has to be either graphite in color or red. none of this prissy pink shit. My current tFal is about 3 years old. Some used a lot, some rarely. So if you go by the 5 year plan, it will be tie to be looking end of next year or so. Guess I need to find something I want to use for the rest of my life. And prob… bites tongue wrong thread
They taste terrible.

@KNmeh7 @tweezak husband’s family is from Erie - wish I had more Griswolds! they’re remarkably good

I use my Matfer Black Steel frying pans for most things, but I do grab my small non-stick pan for cooking eggs.
I use a non-stick skillet for some things, like eggs, pancakes, tortillas, etc., but I use cast iron for some stuff and stainless for most.
Pan sauces work best when a fond develops on the bottom of the pan, and I don’t want to set cognac or bourbon on fire in a non-stick pan.
@craigthom
Good plan.

Criticism that is soon forgotten.
