If you’re trying to find a wiring diagram for your clothes dryer repair, you’re definitely going to need to visit an oddly specific forum full of these:
I used to look up “disappointed face” every time and then copy and paste but then my kids got old enough to text and I needed it a lot more so made a shortcut:
@ItalianScallion@pakopako@werehatrack 70s for me. Woodstock. Snoopy. Kilroy was here. We could send them to the IBM chain printer (yes, chain printer).
You can find videos of people making a chain printer play (rough) music.
@jouest@Kyeh It actually would only require the removal of the 30 day limit on a users activity when they look at their profile. There is already a filter available for ‘likes given’. I could probably find it in 5 minutes if things extended past 30 days. But I get it… those kind of searches take compute cycles. Maybe your IT guys can remove the 30 day limit if only one filter is selected or even allow for a date range for the search. Not just T-30.
@jouest yeah, about that little feature. I think that is how I accidentally liked some of my posts because I hovered over on my phone to see who liked it and tapped it instead. I’m not that creepy, really.
oh and ask questions here if you have them. You might be rewarded with helpful answers or sarcastic nonsense.
Here’s a useful feature - if you want to check on your whispers you can go into your account and choose to only see them:
It shows both sides of the convos, which is nice.
@Kyeh scribbles furiously
@jouest In your Rocketbook Smart Reusable Panda Planner?
@Kyeh when it arrives i will finally be complete!!
The forum is so meh.
I miss easy to use forums from years ago. Lol

(There are other “useful” things on that site as well.)
@werehatrack ah, but these are HTML and ANSI/ASCII formatting tricks not exclusive to the forum mechanics…
Oh right, not everyone has been knee-deep in W3 background information:

@pakopako
Actually, this one is baked into the code here.
@pakopako And there is always
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@pakopako and
@pakopako @werehatrack I lean heavily on ಠ_ಠ
@jouest remind me how to do that one. I always forget.

My favorite is the one where you type
/buy
and then things show up at your door@shawn agree and everybody should go try that on today’s product thread
@jouest @shawn
/buy -style catshirt -size large -quantity 42
@jouest @narfcake @shawn I thought you had to have something like a VMP membership for /buy to work, i.e., it doesn’t work for everybody.
@ItalianScallion @jouest @narfcake @shawn It works for non-VMP members, too.
@shawn I love that too. I always keep wondering who pays for that.
My favorite feature is Mediocrebot being awesome. There are also come helpful features buried in this old post from 2014:

OWLS! TOWELS! JOWLS! AWESOME!
@heartny too many broken links
Oh damn I just learned today that you can see who has admired your stuff…
@jouest Stop checking out my stuff
@jouest And that’s how you accidentally end up starring your own comments.
@capnjb
@jouest @Kyeh I really wish I knew where my one is. It’s likely 10+ years old.
@capnjb @Kyeh sounds like one good night of scrolling should do it

@capnjb @jouest I have tried that but as capnjb said you’re limited to the 30 days. I guess I should check once a week or something.
@jouest @Kyeh Kyeh, you’ve got 20 to find.
That will take you a month of Sundays
@capnjb @Kyeh oh wow. an extremely mild shame that echoes across eternity. it’s basically Marcus Aurelius in internet forum form.
@capnjb @jouest Yeah … they’re buried in the mists of time, I’m afraid.
@jouest Were you a philosophy major?
@Kyeh minor! major would have required writing a thesis that was not happening.
@jouest yeah, about that little feature. I think that is how I accidentally liked some of my posts because I hovered over on my phone to see who liked it and tapped it instead.
I’m not that creepy, really.
@jouest I don’t blame you.
