Wait for my wife to find it. Attempt gaslighting her into thinking she’s at fault. Suffer tragically from implements of cooking thrown towards my cranium at great velocity.
I’m SURE my guy is on it before I even know it’s there! And if by some rare chance I’M the cause of said spill I’ll be apologizing profusely while I’m watching him clean it up! 🫧 …and with WAY TOO MANY paper towels!
I did that recently, and picked #3. Problem is at the moment there was nobody else in the house.
So now I have dried sticky mess. And bits of glass from broken jar. So now I’m tackling it with wet rag to soak, gloves, and a scraper. Luckily it’s a tough tile floor. After that maybe some steam. I really needed to clean the kitchen floor anyway.
@pmarin
Broken glass with sticky stuff inside is the worst to clean. At least if it’s something dry you can sweep everything up and then vacuum but with wet stuff it’s such a pain in the ass.
When it comes to sticky messes, food spills, or cat puke it can’t be a future me problem. Too many other cats to even think about it.
Wet rag. Simple and quick.
Ring the bell for the help.
Point it out to the dog.
All taken care of.
Especially if meat or gravy is involved.
(Assuming no artificial sweeteners.)
@phendrick, yeah, this was my answer, too. Just let the dog have it.

Clean it up.
Drop a wet rag on the floor, then use my toes to grab it and wipe up.
Mop it up
Short hair cats are self-cleaning napkins.

Yup, he’s a keeper!

Since this is a normal occurrence when I cook 3 meals a day, there is always a wet rag in the sink to use. Then wipe up with a dry towel.
See if the Cat will lick up the Food spill, otherwise I grab a paper towel & spray
/showme Real cats cleaning up the spill caused by their human.

@pmarin @Star2236 Shouldn’t sit on it…
If its something like karo syrup, then salt it. Let dry for a bit and sweep it up, then mop.
@nasman6
That’s a good idea, I’m gonna try and remember that for next time.
Wish I still had a dog. Then, depending on size and contents of the spill, assemble necessary tools to clean it up.
Clean it up like a normal person.
